Historically, autocrats often have turned out to be remarkably fragile, while effective mass movements have demonstrated unexpected strength to topple them. - Jennifer Rubin

FROM INDIVISIBLE NATIONAL
What’s next. We all know that fascism does not announce defeat purely because an historic number of people come out on a Saturday. But it was more than a day of joy, courage, community, and headlines -- it was a welcome orientation for millions of new patriotic Americans to get connected to the fight where they live. That gives us an opportunity to build the movement and escalate. Join us April, 2nd at Chatters in Monticello (4-6pm) for what’s next for WCI

Every Wednesday 3:30 – 4:15 Sidewalk next to Business Center Drive
-
Sherburne County Government Center
13880 Business Ctr Dr NW, Elk River, MN 55330
The Wright County jail is making space to hold 120 folks who have been incarcerated at the Sherburne County Jail. Because Sherburne is boarding detainees for ICE, they need more room. So, they are sending their non-ICE related arrests to WC because they make more money off of ICE detainees. Botton line: Wright County is making money off of ICE detainees as well because we are boarding for Sherburne County.

I94 Billboard Update - 164,000 vehicles a day!
We rent the billboard jointly with Indivisible North Metro and Indivisible Twin Cities.
We've been using it to hold Tom Emmer accountable — rotating messages to match whatever atrocity the week brings — and to promote events like No Kings rallies. Some of our recent messages are shown below.
Here's the challenge: We need to raise money to keep it running through the midterms. And the cost just jumped from $1,200 to $2,000 for four weeks, now that we're in "election season."
Can you help? Every dollar keeps those eyes informed.

Mail a check to: WCI, PO Box 1410, Monticello, MN 55362, put billboard in the memo

Saturday’s No Kings 3 was the biggest yet!
More than 8 million people.
3,200 events.
All 50 states.
Rome to Tokyo — and yes, all seven continents.
Four people drew “No Kings” in the snow in Antarctica.
From the coldest place on Earth to the streets of St. Paul — people showed up.
And the national flagship rally? Right here in St. Paul — the largest protest this state has ever seen.
Minnesota didn’t just participate. We led!

What’s Next - May 1
From the St. Paul stage, Indivisible co-founder Ezra Levin put it plainly:
A nationwide work stoppage.
No work.
No school.
No shopping.
Rallies show numbers. Work stoppages show leverage. And leverage is harder to build.
WCI doesn’t currently have plans to organize any events for May 1st. Watch this space for updates.
