The Supreme Court’s right-wing super-majority just effectively gutted Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act and cleared the way for states to dramatically dilute the political representation of Black and brown voters in Congress.
How do we respond? Keep reading, keep watching, keep protesting, keep writing, emailing, calling.
REMEMBER…
We are stronger together.
They want us to throw our hands up in the air…and quit.
Instead…stay informed, connect with others, stay active and involved—we have an election to win—
TOGETHER.

CONTACT YOUR SENATORS
Amy Klobuchar: (202) 224-3244 klobuchar.senate.gov
Tina Smith (202) 224-5641 smith.senate.gov
Hi, I’m a constituent calling from [zip]. My name is ______. First, the Trump administration’s un-American attacks on free speech must end. Trump may not like Jimmy Kimmel, but he has to tolerate his speech the same way we have to tolerate Trump’s. Has the Senator yet made a statement defending the 1st amendment and demanding that the FCC leave ABC alone? If not I want the Senator to do so right away. Second, I understand that Republicans are trying to sneak a provision into the Farm Bill (H.R. 7567) that would make it impossible for people to sue Bayer over Roundup, a carcinogen that has sickened untold numbers of Americans. This amounts to a “Get out of jail free” card for pesticide companies. No way. I want this provision stripped from the bill before it’s passed. Finally, I am livid to hear that Republicans are going to try to pass a bill to give Trump 400M for his ballroom. That ballroom was supposed to be paid for by private donors. Now we’re shouldering the costs? On top of 70B for ICE and 1.5T for the Pentagon? Americans want none of this. We want affordable healthcare. We want to be able to buy groceries. We want to be able to pay our bills. I oppose this funding completely.

Hi, I’m a constituent calling from [zip]. My name is _______.
First, the Trump administration’s un-American attacks on free speech must end. Trump may not like Jimmy Kimmel, but he has to tolerate his speech the same way we have to tolerate Trump’s. Has the Congressmember yet made a statement defending the 1st amendment and demanding that the FCC leave ABC alone? If not I want them to do so right away.
Second, I understand that Republicans are trying to sneak a provision into the Farm Bill (H.R. 7567) that would make it impossible for people to sue Bayer over Roundup, a carcinogen that has sickened untold numbers of Americans. No way. I want this provision stripped from the bill before it’s passed. Also please reverse Trump’s cuts to food assistance in it!
Also, please ask the representative to demand major reforms to Section 702 of FISA, and to withhold their vote from reauthorization without those reforms. Specifically, Congress must close the Backdoor Search Loophole and the Data Broker Loophole. No reauthorization without reform. Thanks.

Tell your senators and representative:
No ICE concentration camps, anywhere.
The regime has been scouting and purchasing commercial warehouses to expand its network of ICE prison camps -- but local, state, and legal opposition has successfully stopped or slowed 13 such projects. As Saturday's Communities Not Cages day of action made crystal clear, Americans absolutely do not want to be a nation that warehouses humans, anywhere. Ever. Follow up on that amazing day by telling your Members of Congress to publicly oppose new warehouse-style camps and any public spending to build, renovate, or operate such facilities.

This training is designed for activists who want to use social media more strategically to spread progressive messages, counter misinformation, and reach people beyond our usual circles. First, we'll have a brief presentation and discussion breaking down how social media algorithms work, what makes posts more likely to travel, and how everyday engagement—liking, commenting, and sharing—can help amplify our content!
For the second part of the training, we'll do a guided activity where we'll learn how to get connected with various local Central Minnesota progressive/left-leaning social media accounts to help create content, share ideas, or support online organizing efforts.
Registration is capped at the first 50 people, so be sure to sign up early!

SHERBURNE COUNTY GOVERNMENT VIGIL
Over 100 immigrants are in Detention at the Sherburne County Government Center. Consider joining us!
-
Every Wednesday 3:30 – 4:15 Sidewalk next to Business Center Drive
-
Sherburne County Government Center
13880 Business Ctr Dr NW, Elk River, MN 55330
The Wright County jail is making space to hold 120 folks who have been incarcerated at the Sherburne County Jail. Because Sherburne is boarding detainees for ICE, they need more room. So, they are sending their non-ICE related arrests to WC because they make more money off of ICE detainees. Botton line: Wright County is making money off of ICE detainees as well because we are boarding for Sherburne County.

What’s Next - May 1
Plan your participation in a day of economic disruption on May Day: No work. No school. No shopping.
SHOP LOCAL AND SMALL BUSINESSES ONLY! NO SHOPPING AT LARGE CORPORATE BUSINESSES!
We’re flexing our economic power on May 1, sending a message to Trump and his oligarch enablers: We refuse to do business as usual as you trample our rights, terrorize our communities, and conduct your war. Not everyone will be able to refuse work, school, or spending entirely, but it's vital that each of us does whatever we can do to show the regime that we don't just have numbers--we have economic leverage.

I94 Billboard Update - 164,000 vehicles a day!
We rent the billboard jointly with Indivisible North Metro and Indivisible Twin Cities.
We've been using it to hold Tom Emmer accountable — rotating messages to match whatever atrocity the week brings — and to promote events like No Kings rallies. Some of our recent messages are shown below.
Here's the challenge: We need to raise money to keep it running through the midterms. And the cost just jumped from $1,200 to $2,000 for four weeks, now that we're in "election season."
Can you help? Every dollar keeps those eyes informed.

Mail a check to: WCI, PO Box 1410, Monticello, MN 55362, put billboard in the memo
